Westosha Lakes Church began in 2005 to connect people throughout Western Kenosha County, or "Westosha", to love God and love each other. We started as a campus of Kenosha Bible Church at Central High School and grew over two years to a growth point to launch as a church with their blessing. We are a group of people who have seen church done wrong in so many ways, but who seek together to have a loving, Bible-centered community that points people to Jesus.
God brought our Senior Pastor, Jeff Talbert, to us in 2007.
In 2008, God helped us launch our first daughter church, “Armed & Dangerous Biker Ministries”, under the leadership of biker Pastor Ralph Scherer to reach out to bikers across Southeastern Wisconsin and care for hurting people. That same year, God led us to pray for His provision of a building instead of launching a capital campaign, and in 2009 God answered our prayers by moving the hearts of Grace Valley Bible Church to offer their church building to us and their members to join our church family. We were blown away at God’s gracious provision of a paid-for building and wonderful new brothers and sisters in Christ.
That gift of a building also had a small ministry of giving away food to 14 families per month that became our Helping Hands Ministry. Over the past 7 years, God has grown the ministry to serve over 250 families per month and give away over 700,000 pounds of food to families throughout our community! God has stretched us to be a church that loves and blesses our community in tangible ways and that has grown our faith and helped us become a church where everyone is welcome.
In 2015, our Sunday services became too full to contain both visitors and members. After much prayer within the church leadership and congregation, the Lord opened the door for Westosha Lakes Church to grow into two locations. Westosha Lakes Church – Twin Lakes Campus launched September 2015 under the leadership of Twin Lakes Campus Pastor Andrew Smiley, and our church continues to learn and grow as one church in two locations.
We are excited to see how God will lead us in the future and invite you to join us in our journey!
